The Joint Educational Trust (usually known as JET) helps children who have suffered seriously at home or at school, or are at risk in some way. JET enables these children to attend independent boarding or day schools, or state boarding schools, where they have a real chance of making a new start.

JET children must:

  • be between 7 and 13 years old
  • have suffered recent tragedy or trauma, or be at risk in some way
  • be from families who cannot meet the cost of such education unaided

JET helps by working towards providing a free or reduced-fees place. JET may also provide grants if there is a shortfall in funding, and often works in conjunction with other charities.

Unfortunately, JET cannot consider cases of financial difficulty or learning problems alone.

JET supports End Child Poverty, an organisation committed to raising awareness of child poverty in the UK. ECP campaigns to ensure that the goal of eradicating child poverty becomes a reality.

Please note that all photographs of children ( kindly supplied by Terry Mahoney) are modelled for JET by children from Preparatory schools.
